MID 19TH CENTURY BOYER POLYCHROME PORCELAIN VEGETABLE TUREEN - RUE DE LA PAIX 2

C. 1845 French "Old Paris" porcelain polychrome and stencil-gilt vegetable tureen, with handles, by Boyer. In claret with extensive gilt trim, surrounded with periwinkles linking gilt cartouches alternately containing an ornately monogrammed “B” crested by a griffin head and four separate flower designs. Signed on bottom "Boyer rue de la paix 2." Additional illegible maker's mark scribed into the base (see last photo). Two small chips above one handle, each about 4mm, otherwise in excellent condition.

Approximately 7 3/4 inches in  diameter and 2 1/2 inches deep at the center. May have originally had a lid.
