Antique French Faience Art Nouveau Inkwell and Pen Holder Signed Aladin France
Very nice French c. 1900 Art Nouveau inkwell and pen holder in white and green with gilt highlights. Unusual glazing with matte finish white glaze high relief rectangular panels around the outside, semi-gloss green glaze and shiny white glaze elsewhere. Octagonal with alternating rectangular floral designs. Central opening with original inkwell (with a letter C stamped on the underside) and matching lid. Five openings around the top for pens and pencils of various sizes.
4 1/4 inches in diameter, 2 3/4 inches high (about 1 inch taller with lid). Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, excellent glaze with light wear on top, no crazing. The ink cup is unstained and may never have been used. There are some light scratches inside indicating light use as a pen and pencil holder.
