Vintage California boat racing trophy, awarded 1946 - 1947 Salton Sea Winter Annual Championships 3rd Place in the 135 cubic inch class. The top of the trophy features a heavy, cast metal, vintage style speedboat with a driver wearing goggles. Below this is a raised relief copper seal commemorating the event. The lower portion of the trophy is engraved "Donated by Josefa P. Gonzales Indio, Calif."
The trophy is all metal with outstanding plating for its age. It is brass colored, except the lower cylindrical portion near the base which is plated a gun metal color. Excellent condition. No dents, cracks, corrosion. Tight, no missing pieces. Light patina with age. Very clean.
Slightly over 14 inches tall, and 3 5/8 inches diameter at the base.
The trophy is highly reflective, making it difficult to photograph. I guarantee you will be impressed by this piece or it can be returned.
