This is a black-and-white 1988 punk show poster advertising the Bedlam Rovers, m.c.: donald, and Matt Puicci at the Albion in San Francisco. Promoting a party held on Friday, November 18th, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Jonestown tragedy. 

Presented by “the culture industry,” the event is titled “Jonestown Party.” The central image features a photograph of the aftermath of the 1978 Jonestown massacre, with bodies lying beneath a pavilion. Above the image is a quote that reads, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” On the right side of the poster, a figure wearing a gas mask stands looking down, accompanied by a speech bubble that says, “Wow! Free Kool-Aid,” a reference to the poisoned drink associated with the tragedy.

The event also marks the first anniversary of the band Bedlam Rovers, who are listed as a featured act. "Additional sensory overloading to be provided by special guest MC Donald plus Matt Puicci." In small print along the edge, the poster is marked “Culture Industry 11.18 OK-1."

Black and white, 8 1/2 inches by 14 inches, good condition, some wear from having been folded, tiny holes in the corners from having been posted on a bulletin board or wall.
