IMPERIAL GERMAN WWI ENGRAVED PRESENTATION FIREMANS AXE FIREFIGHTER 1918

WWI 1918 German presentation fire axe with dedication plaque commemorating 10 years of service with the Gorlitz (Saxony) fire department. 15 3/4 inches long overall. Handle 14 1/4 inches long. Blade 4 3/4 inches long and just over 2 1/2 inches high at the edge. Weighs about 1 1/2 pounds.

Excellent condition. Original paint and plating. All parts original except two escutcheon screws which have been replaced. No cracks or chips to metal parts, some chips to painted wooden handle. Dedication plate showing wear but also in good condition.
