ORIGINAL FRAMED IMPERIAL GERMAN SOLDIER MEMORIAL PHOTO COLLAGE REGIMENTAL DRIVER
Regular price
$250.00
Unusual Imperial German memorial piece commemorating a soldier. Elaborate piece with three-dimensional cameos and lettering, real cloth banners, shoulder board with brass button, and number "8." At the center is a photograph of the soldier. It is flanked by cameos of two German officers or leaders, possibly Kaiser Wilhelm, and one other.
The piece is labeled:
Stolz kann ich sagen die Zeichen durst ich tragen (I Wore These Proudly)
Driver Bunz (The soldier was a company/regimental driver with the last name Bunz)
Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit (Remember my Service)
The translations are our rough approximations.
The piece is 100% original, including the cloth, all applied ornamentation, the matte, glass and frame. I had it professionally taken apart and remounted because it was dusty inside, so there is new paper on the back.
Piece is 11 1/4 inches by 15 1/4 inches, 16 inches by 20 3/4 inches framed. Excellent condition. Velvet very faded with age. A few chips to the frame (original).
