Antique 4L German Beer Stein with classical courting scenes, lions, griffins. Beautiful detailing in dark blue and brown. Marked 4L and 430.

Excellent condition. No chips or cracks in porcelain. Original lid, fits well for age, hairline crack inside lid but does not extend to outside.

Features central verse: "Wer den Frohsinn nicht kennt, kennt auch nicht den Ernst des Lebens!" (Who doesn't know merriment also doesn't know the seriousness of life!).

16 1/2 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches wide at the base. Excellent condition. No chips or cracks in porcelain. Original lid, very slight distortion (see photos), fits well for age. Finial in good condition.
