EARLY 19TH CENTURY WEDGWOOD COBALT BLUE DIP CHEESE DOME DISH BELL

Regular price $175.00
Early 19th Century Wedgwood dip blue jasper ware cheese dome with plate and cover. Marked only WEDGWOOD with early style mark and tiny "V" and "X" potter's marks, possibly hand scribed. With less common open handle in the style of a tree trunk.

Plate 9 1/4 inches in diameter. Cover 7 inches in diameter and 3 1/2 inches tall.

In generally fair to good condition but with several visible cracks. (These are all visible in the photos.) One crack to the cover begins at base near figure holding bird and extends across the top of the cover, but does not go all the way through its entire length. One crack in the center of the plate about 85% of the way across the plate. All raised white ornamentation in excellent condition except one tiny mark on the veil of one figure. Cheese plate surface stained. (I did not attempt to clean this.)

Please note condition issues in description and photos before purchasing. This is still a very nice example but does have flaws that should be considered. Open to reasonable offers.
