Ross London compound microscope c. 1900. Copper and brass finish with plating and lacquer in good original condition, very shiny and has not been polished. Marked on the base "Ross London 8114." Three-place turret with no objective lenses installed

Stands about 11" tall fully closed, 16 3/8" extended. Rackwork coarse focus with unusual calibrated micrometer style fine focus knob on the top of the column. Elaborate diaphragm mechanism with hinged lens, in working order. Mechanical rack and pinion precision stage, with X and Y adjustments, plano/concave mirror, on a U-shaped base with rectangular columns. Slide clips on the square stage. 

A very nice, rare microscope in overall very good to excellent condition. All adjustments functional, eyepiece and diaphragm optics in good condition. Mirrors discolored, patina throughout. Eyepiece slides in and out but loosened with wear.
