ANTIQUE BRASS OILER LUBRICATOR HIT MISS PRIMER STEAM VALVE WOOD KNOB
Antique brass lubricator or primer valve. Large brass valve with cylinder and pump mechanism with original wooden handle. No manufacturer name visible. Very early unit based on materials and style, possibly 1850s or 1860s. Either from a railroad locomotive or stationary/hit and miss engine.
Threaded piece at bottom about 3/4". Pump mechanism functioning but tight, extends to about 5 inches. Cylinder 2 3/4 inches tall, 2 7/8 inches diameter, turned brass with threads, removable cap with interesting coin milled edge. Overall 6 3/8 inches from handle to other side of cylinder.
Very good condition. Tarnished consistent with age but free of corrosion.
