Pair of Wedgwood "sweet dishes" (small plates) depicting William and Catherine Booth founders of The Salvation Army. In original presentation box. Each about 4 3/8 inches in diameter.
Light blue "Jasper ware" decorated with oak leaves. Excellent condition. Both signed "Wedgwood" and "Made in England" with additional makers' marks.
Produced in 1978 by Wedgwood for Salvationist Publishing and Supplies to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Salvation Army, which was first formed in 1865 but officially named in 1878.
